Peyton is six weeks old today! He's growing and developing new skills everyday....it really does happen as fast as everyone says! The pictures above are of the little man with his newest skills, lifting his head on his own (hanging out with Dad on the couch here) and smiling/ laughing at us (we put these Crocs on his feet and were laughing when he decided to join in with us, don't worry, they're too big for him to wear yet!). I also included a picture of all of us on Dale's new ship. We are so blessed to have such a happy little boy. He is beginning to sleep more at night which is really nice for us. His longest stretch so far has been six and a half hours!
I went to the doctor today for my six week post partum check-up. There's not much for me to report, I'm recovering well. I do have to go in for a follow-up for my gestational diabetes and low iron count. I am excited to report that I only have 17 more pounds to lose before I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight, not bad considering I gained 55 during the pregnancy! I have also been released to exercise as much as I want! I'm looking forward to doing more than walking again!
We also met with the lactation consultant regarding a couple of concerns I had...and we weighed the little man while we were there! I'm happy to let you all know we officially have a porker on our hands! Peyton already weighs 11 pounds and 4 ounces! He is starting to outgrow some of his newborn size clothes and move into 1-3 month clothes! He is definitely getting PLENTY to eat (this was my concern, like most first time breastfeeding mothers!).
Dale's work is going wonderfully, he is OOD qualified, which means less nights at home alone for me and Peyton! I plan on going to Tennessee so everyone can meet/ see Peyton in August since Dale will be on patrol.
Peyton goes back to the pediatrician in August for his two month appointment, he'll be getting a few shots then :( I'll update the blog then. Take care!
Love,
Dale, Erica and Peyton
Over 11 lbs? Wow! We were just talking today about how much he weighs now, that's great! Keep up the good eats! I'm very jealous about the 6.5 hours of sleep-in a row- our longest is 3.5 but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! :-) Love you guys
ReplyDeletepeyton is holding his head up really well. At first I thought he was mad but I see he was laughing. Glad Dale passed Love all very much
