32 weeks....OH, SHAMU!!!

I'm now 32 weeks along! This past week has been a little rough. I've had a lot of soreness and aches and pains everywhere, that the doctor attributes to my body preparing for the big day. Apparently your body produces large amounts of "Relaxin" (a hormone) the closer you get to your due date, which in turn causes your ligaments and bones to stretch. This has been the biggest complaint I have had with my pregnancy thus far! Sleeping is getting tougher, but we're trying some new tricks with the bed, so we'll see if that helps. This past weekend we went to a Twins game with a friend from high school and had a good time out with some other friends of ours from the cities. It was a nice night away from Duluth with great company! We are in the midst of closing up shop in Minnesota in preparation for our move to Mississippi NEXT FRIDAY! We are getting very excited to see some consistent warm temperatures! As I type this, it is about 35 degrees with a windchill in the twenties.....on April 20th! I had another appointment today, and things are still going smoothly. My belly is 32 cm and Shooter's heart rate is about 150, which is good. He has developed a bit of a routine in my belly, with consistent times of movement and rest. I've been walking daily outside now, when the weather permits, and it really seems to help the achiness in my body. We go back to the doctor for the last time here in Duluth next week, so I'll update the blog again next week before we move.

30 weeks, 5 days

Here we are at the baby shower with my wonderful friends, Michelle (left) and Kate (right) who hosted the shower. We had delicious pasta, salad and cupcakes at the shower along with smiles and laughter with many friends! It was the perfect opportunity for me to visit with all the wonderful girlfriends I've made here in Minnesota before we move to Mississippi. We received so many great gifts that will definitely help stock up Shooter's room and drawers.....and thank you softball girls for embracing my love for the sport, I'm pretty sure the little man will come out holding a baseball glove to match all of the pinstriped onesies! I also had another doctor's appointment, my belly is now 30 cm and growing right on track! I feel like there is no more room for the little guy to grow, but am reassured by everyone that he'll keep going! His heartbeat is strong (along with his kicks and jabs) and as of Monday, his head is down where it needs to be. Hopefully it will stay that way! We did feel hiccups for the first time last week in the middle of the night. It is one of the best feelings I've had yet, and can't describe how it made me feel! Dale was so excited he sat up in bed and shouted, "No way!" We're getting ready for the big move south and thanks to my in-laws, Shooter has some wonderful summertime clothes in his wardrobe, including swimming trunks and "crocs"! We're hoping to get another ultrasound before his big debut, just to look in and see how he's doing! Anyhow, that's all for now. I do want to thank everyone for coming to our shower and spending a little quality time with me! It means more to me than you all will ever know! I'll keep everyone posted in about another week or so....
